[Simplify Your Health] Let's Get Back to Basics for a Healthier You!✌️

Hi Reader,

In today’s world, there seems to be an endless list of rules and restrictions about what you should and shouldn’t eat and what workouts are best. But here’s a refreshing truth: humans have thrived for thousands of years without all these complicated guidelines.

The big difference now? We move less, and we have an abundance of processed foods at our fingertips. If we could just focus on moving more and eating real, whole foods, we'd see a massive difference in our health and well-being.

Simplify Your Nutrition and Fitness

Let’s strip away the complexity and focus on what truly matters. Here’s how you can make your health journey simpler and more enjoyable:

1. Move More

Our bodies were designed to move. Sedentary lifestyles are a modern challenge, but you can overcome this by incorporating more movement into your day. This doesn’t mean you have to hit the gym for hours. Here are some simple ways to get moving:

  • Take short walks: A 10-minute walk after each meal can do wonders.
  • Stretch regularly: Set a timer to remind yourself to stretch every hour.
  • Find activities you enjoy: Dancing, swimming, gardening—anything that gets you moving and makes you happy.

2. Eat Real Foods

Processed foods are convenient but often lack the nutrients your body needs. Focus on eating more whole foods—foods that are as close to their natural state as possible. Here are some tips:

  • Shop the perimeter: This is where you'll find fresh produce, meats, and dairy in the grocery store.
  • Cook at home: Preparing your meals gives you control over what goes into your food.
  • Listen to your body: Eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full, and choose foods that make you feel good.

Use Knowledge to Your Advantage🧐

Yes, we've learned a lot about nutrition and fitness over the years, and this knowledge can be incredibly helpful—if we use it correctly.

Here’s an example from my own life:

I’ve always been slightly anemic, so long before I became a nutritionist and trainer, I researched iron absorption. I found out that eating vitamin C-rich foods with iron-rich foods can improve absorption. Instead of overcomplicating things, I simply added more vitamin C-rich foods like bell peppers and citrus fruits to my iron-rich meals. I also avoided drinking coffee or tea with these meals, as they inhibit iron absorption. I didn't get obsessive or give myself crazy rules I just made some simple changes and it's been many years since I've had blood work come back showing anemia.

➡️Actionable Steps You Can Take Today

  1. Move More: Set a goal to take at least one walk today. Even that short 10-minute stroll can make a difference.
  2. Eat Real Foods: Plan your next meal to include at least one whole food item, such as a vegetable, fruit, or lean protein.
  3. Use Knowledge Wisely: Identify one small piece of nutritional knowledge that can benefit you and incorporate it into your daily routine. For instance, if you’re aiming to boost fiber intake, add more fruits, vegetables, or whole grains to your meals.

By simplifying your approach to nutrition and fitness, you'll find it easier to stick with healthy habits and enjoy the process more. Remember, health is not about following rigid rules but about creating a lifestyle that supports your well-being.

Your journey can inspire others just as it inspires you. So feel free to reply or spread the positivity with someone you know. It may be just what they need to hear! 😘

Hi! I'm Nicole

Over the years I have thrown alot of info into my emails. I considered taking some of my old emails and making them into blog posts and then realized I can make a newsletter feed for you to go back to or refer others to. So here it is. Of course I won't include all emails here. But, as I write, when something seems to be a very useful email with info I beleive you will want to refer back to it will go to this feed. Enjoy! 😘

Hi Ladies! I hope you’re having a fantastic day! Today, I want to talk about something incredibly simple yet profoundly impactful – walking. Yep, that’s right, just good old-fashioned walking. Did you know that many of the longest-living people in the world live in steep villages, like those in the Blue Zones? These folks aren’t hitting the gym for grueling workouts; instead, they’re walking… a lot. Walking uphill, walking to get groceries, walking to visit friends. It’s a natural part of...

Hey Reader, I hope this message finds you well! Today, I want to ask you an important question: What if you stopped wasting time looking for a quick fix? Think about it. How much time and energy have you spent chasing quick fixes for your health and fitness? Those miracle diets, magic pills, and extreme workout programs that promise rapid results but often fall short. What if, instead of chasing quick fixes, you focused on simple, sustainable habits? Imagine if you just lived a little...
